we grew up together from the young age of seven to the ripe old age of 22. we were inseparable. joined at the hip. we were each other’s shadows. we went to school together, worked together & laughed until we peed our pants.. your family was my family & mine was yours. after 15 years of laughter, tears & memories, we let things come between us. be it other friends, boyfriends or time. for two years, i pretended i was fine without you. i faked a smile—& for two years—every time i thought of calling you, i didn’t. i acted like i didn’t need you.. like i didn’t need my best friend. here we are, 17 years later, it feels like we’re meeting for the first time.. but it’s okay, because we’ve been here, before. we just come back, stronger than ever.. closer than ever. you are my sister & i am yours. the only thing that has changed about our friendship is the years :)
